Luka Trovo Project: The Impact Of Environmental Factors On Fetal Brain Development
  • APAP - Cortical organoid models of autism

From my first experiences as a bachelor intern, I developed a deep passion for research and a special interest with the discipline of neurobiology. I have developed my expertise in a variety of laboratory procedures over the years, from molecular biology to cellular biology, and I have worked on a variety of projects that investigate the intricate workings of the brain and nervous system. I focused extensively on the study of CDKL5 dysfunction during both my bachelor's and master's internships, working nonstop to elucidate the morphological and molecular deficiencies underlying this complex pathology. I later focused my efforts during my Ph.D. research on identifying a protein's function in GABAB receptor physiology. Building on my prior work to explore new directions in the field of neurobiology, my current research examines whether environmental influences affect embryonic neurodevelopment. I am continuously motivated to broaden my knowledge and follow novel paths of research in this endlessly intriguing field.
